About TEACH Academy of Technologies

Our school will ensure that students have numerous opportunities to explore diverse ways to be an active learner. In addition to the variety of classes offered throughout the day, there are also many activities for students, parents, and guardians to be involved in. We understand that the more the students are involved in positive activities, the better they perform academically.

Principal Carranza

Welcome to TEACH Academy of Technologies Charter School. We are excited about the opportunities for excellence at TEACH and we will provide a positive learning experience that will influence students for a lifetime.

Our vision is to establish a state-of-the-art community school in South Los Angeles that will equip students with skills and habits of mind needed to compete in the 21st century. The staff members at TEACH work with students, parents, and guardians to create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. We will work collaboratively to set high, but achievable academic and behavioral expectations that help students excel. We are as eager as the students and their parents and guardians for everyone to experience success in our student centered environment.

Our school will ensure that students have numerous opportunities to explore diverse ways to be an active learner. In addition to the variety of classes offered throughout the day, there are also many activities for students, parents, and guardians to be involved in. We understand that the more the students are involved in positive activities, the better they perform academically.

This is a time of great growth-physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially for our students. Although these changes are exciting, they can also be challenging. We are here to make the change process a meaningful experience. TEACH staff is well trained and prepared to work with students in many ways to ensure success in all areas of their development.  Using researched best practices as our guide, we seek to provide our students with a differentiated program of study that is best suited for them based upon their ability, readiness, interests, learning styles and needs. Incorporating different modalities of instruction, coupled with our staff’s continuous enrichment of their own knowledge base, we strive to ensure that each child’s potential is met.

Our mission is to create a high quality, innovative teaching and learning environment that focuses on literacy, integrating state-of-the-art technologies across the core curriculum to achieve academic proficiency for all students.  Let us work together to make TEACH a school of academic excellence.

Dr. Raul Carranza,
Principal

We believe that all children can learn when taught well and given opportunity.

We recognize that the ultimate objective of education is to enable students to become successful, self-directed, life-long learners.  We recognize that every child has the right to acquire knowledge and experiences to be effectively applied throughout their daily lives.  We expect that this goal can best be achieved in a culture of acceptance, high expectation, encouragement, support, and positive motivation.

We believe that students should be taught Socially, Physically, Emotionally, Aesthetically (appreciation of what is beautiful), Intellectually/Cognitively, Technologically, Culturally, and Morally.  The moral compass of the well taught student dictates the outcome of a well disciplined life. Discipline can defined as a process by which students are helped in developing an understanding of, and an appreciation for appropriate behavior toward sound learning experiences.  In the Middle School child, this process often includes positive behavioral interventions.  Through the intervention of The Essence of Commitment, students at TEACH Academy of Technologies are taught and encouraged to demonstrate appropriate behavior, to manage self,  and to exercise the discipline required for  refined,  creative problem-solving skills necessary in negotiating  a successful lifestyle.
